The Lucit Restaurant is in Rietondale, Pretoria.   It is in the centre of Pretoria, 3 km from the Union Buildings, 4 km from Loftus Sportsground, 6 km from the University of Pretoria, and a half km from the Department of Foreign Affairs.   There are 150 embassies within a 5 km radius around the restaurant.





 Lucit Restaurant is situated on a registered business property of 2460 square meters, with 900 meters rezoned for restaurant and music theatre, and the rest rezoned for parking and special residential.    The entrance is in Soutpansberg Road, which is a main artery between the city, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the east of Pretoria, as well as the N1 Highway.

The property is located in an area which will become an important hub of activity and business.The City Council has already indicated that they have no objection to the building of 20 guestrooms on the property as there is a huge shortage of accommodation in this and in surrounding areas.   The Department of Foreign Affairs has a conference hall that can seat 750 delegates.   Two thousand workers work in the building, with an estimated 500 diplomats, visitors, government officials etc. visiting per day.   Currently there are only 5 guesthouses in this area.

The restaurant comprises 400 square meters with a smoking section seating 20 guests, a verandah seating 25 guests, a patio seating 30 guests, a main dining area seating 70 guests, and two sections in the garden that can seat 10 guests respectively.   There is also a small conference room seating 15 guests, an Oregon Pine service bar and a separate wine cellar   There are four toilets including a toilet for disabled persons.

The garden comprises a 60 000 litre dam with fish and water lilies, small rivers, a cave, an organic filter and 2 huge waterfalls.   The entrance is fitted with another waterfall which adds to the relaxed atmosphere on the spacious patio from where Meintjies Kop is visible.   Bird life abounds in the established garden, with a massive male mulberry tree, an avocado tree and establilshed cocos plumosas.   A paved pathway runs through the garden.















 




 
The kitchen is equipped with a walk-in fridge/freezer, extractor fan, zincs, ovens, gas and electrical stoves, as well as everything needed to run a restaurant.   The property is equipped with 3 phase power.



 
The second house comprises 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, sit-dining room with parquet floors.   This house can easily be transformed into a bed-and-breakfast, or be used as the living quarters for personnel.   The 500 square meters between this house and Soutpansberg Road is tarred, and provides safe and secure parking for 16 cars with further parking behind the house.    From the parking lot guests walk up a paved pathway to the main entrance.

 

For 6 years the restaurant was run as a small private club that focused on specialized cuisine, intimate weddings and corporate functions.   Prior to this it was run for 6 years as a theatre restaurant  -  concerts were advertised weekly in all major newspapers and on many web sites.   The restaurant is well known amongst most Pretorians.
